When Pastor Jenny Donnelly asked me to share on the adoption panel for this year’s Her Voice Conference I felt intimidation pulse through my body. Surely someone who has been a foster parent longer and had already walked through reunification would be a better fit, yet I couldn’t deny that I carried a message deep inside of me for the adoption and fostering movement coming to America. I said yes because I’ve learned that God’s tangible presence meets us in our fears. I knew God doesn’t care about my lack of qualification, he only needs my obedience. Intimidation is often a sign that we are on the right path. 

I had three minutes to summarize our journey and give an exhortation for the Church to step into caring for vulnerable children and families. Speaking on this topic for 12 hours straight would be an easier task for me than attempting to summarize in three minutes, even with my gift of speed talking. In the weeks leading up to the event I wrestled with the Lord on what he would have me share. Without his anointing I knew my words wouldn’t produce movement in the hearts of those in attendance.

The burning desire of my heart is to see an adoption and fostering movement spread across America started by individual encounters with the Spirit of adoption. I believe the Spirit of adoption starts in hearts, spreads to homes and will become a heritage for this nation. It was an absolute honor to  be a part of the ministry team and speak on the adoption panel at this year’s Her Voice Confrence in Portland Oregon. After I spoke the Holy Spirit led me to different parts of the convention center, highlighting people to me to talk and pray with. Every person was either desiring to adopt or foster or already in the process. In a room of 4,000 people, the Lord led me to the exact people he wanted me to connect with. It was truly incredible. There is nothing more exciting than being on divine assignment with the Holy Spirit.   

In the atmosphere of Kingdom family, chains break, hearts and bodies heal, callings are stepped into, voices are unlocked, miracles are released, destinies are commissioned. Her Voice is not a cult, a club, or feel-good event. Her Voice is FAMILY, and the annual encounter gathering is a family reunion hosted by our Heavenly Father for everyone who desires to be a part of the Family of God.
